Good teachers are in demand and teaching offers a career like no other – shaping the minds of our youth.

If you have a passion for teaching, and already have a degree and maybe considering a career change, the College of Education Albany offers a full-time one-year Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary). Also on offer at Albany campus from 2011 will be the BEd (Teaching) Early Years – a four year degree programme.

Our Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy programme not only sets you up for a fulfi lling and exciting career, but provides international career opportunities. The programme educates students to assess and treat speech, language and swallowing problems across one’s life-span.

Have you considered a career in Educational Psychology? Educational psychologists help children and youth succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. They collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students, that strengthen connections between home and school.

Massey University and Victoria University of Wellington, through combined strengths, are the New Zealand School of Music. The School houses New Zealand’s leading musicians, composers and musicologists. Students can study a full range of musical genres with opportunities to collaborate in performance, composition, research and teaching. The Jazz Performance major, offered in both Auckland and Wellington, is unique in New Zealand. Its purpose is to produce jazz musicians who are able to perform with skill and artistry on their instrument, and demonstrate an understanding of the historical, stylistic and social context of the music they perform.

Registration for the workshops below is essential. Please contact Trudy Lile: [email protected].

Special Feature

The New Zealand Trombone Festival is taking place in the Study Centre Staff Lounge, all day, on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th August 2010. Featured from the USA are Bill Reichenbach, Michael Davis, Dr. Irvin Wagner, Ron Barron and NZ guests. Tickets available: www.iticket.co.nz
